Ambassador -> Scott Rausenberger

scott-rausenbergerScott is a 32 year old husband and father of one. Scott swam competitively from 8th grade until his junior year of college, when he decided to shift my focus on finishing up my degree and graduating on time. He began cycling competitively in 2005 when he became over-weight and out of shape. Scott raced cross country mountain bikes until last spring when he made the switch to triathlon.
It seemed to be the natural progression with my swimming back ground and a family competition motivated me to start training for multi sport. I raced my first sprint tri in early June with only a few weeks of training for it and won my age group. I was hooked instantly!
In August of last year he raced his first Olympic tri and took 2nd in his age group. His enthusiasm got the best of him and he competed in the Syracuse Half Ironman about 4 weeks later.
I knew that in 2012 that I would go after a couple of 70.3 events, and figured this would be a good start at the end of the season as a base line. I finished the race in 5:29 and took 16th in my age group. I had a descent swim, and a solid bike but my run fell apart. Needless to say, that experience has fueled my fire and made me set some lofty goals for 2012!
Scott is also currently pursuing a career in the fitness industry. He is working on different certifications and coaching a few athletes for different events.
