While her path to triathlon has been anything but “the norm”—as she didn’t grow up swimming, biking or running—applying discipline and grit to achieve big goals is not new for Sarah. She competed as a nationally ranked figure skater growing up and went on to serve as Captain of the Women’s Crew at Dartmouth College. Following graduation, Sarah established a consulting career and subsequently earned her MBA at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. Triathlon had been a hobby for Sarah throughout her years in consulting, but when she qualified for her elite license while at Booth, she decided to take the path-less-travelled and turned down corporate recruiting offers to explore how high she could climb as a professional triathlete.
Sarah is driven by the opportunity to rise above any challenge. Her career as a professional triathlete has been a journey of personal growth, embracing discomfort to defy expectations and expand her limits each and every day. Sarah is particularly passionate about inspiring others to set big goals for themselves—in and outside of sport—and helping them achieve those goals. Highlights in her three years of racing on the ITU world circuit included several international podiums and the opportunity to experience cultures around the world. Sarah stepped up to Half IRONMAN racing in 2019, earning top-five finishes at IM 70.3 Gulf Coast and IM 70.3 Traverse City. She can’t wait to represent BASE and build on these performances in 2020!
