Phil started doing Tri's in 2009 and has enjoyed the competitive nature of the sport and the challenges it brings. In 2010-11 he struggled with stress fractures in both shins and for some reason could not recover from the injury. He started taking BASE Performance last year and has seen big gains in his fitness and was finally able to train on a consistent basis. He his first half ironman this April and had a blast.
Now that I am healthy again I plan on continuing to build my strength and endurance with the help of Base so I can compete at the highest level.Goals for this year:
- To place in the top three overall at Tri Waco (Olympic Distance) in July
- To run under 18 minutes in a 5k
- To Average 24 mph on the bike in an Olympic distance race
- To qualify for Boston 2014
