He's been doing mostly Sprints, Olympics and a 70.3 over the past two seasons and his initial decision to try BASE Performance was driven by the increased level of activity in preparation for his first Ironman. Mike's short term goals are a sub 11 hour Ironman, sub 5 in a half Ironman, sub 40 minute 10k, and to complete a 10k open water swim. One of his long term goals is to qualify for and compete in the Boston Marathon.
Why BASE Performance? After signing up for my first Ironman I did some serious consideration of the tools needed to support my training and racing during the 12 month build up to race day. I have never used a supplement or multi-vitamin, but realize that as a vegetarian endurance athlete, I need to take extra precaution to ensure I provide my body with the needed nutrients to enable performance and recovery. After reading the other testimonials and performing some research on the ingredients, Base Performance looked like a great training partner.
