HUNDREDS OF OTHERS AROUND THE COUNTRY WILL BE DOING IT RIGHT THERE WITH YOU
Is the swim your crutch? Do you dread going to practice? Do you despise the black line? Do you get nervous at the swim start of all your races?
As athletes, most of us are intimidated by the swim. Our nerves creep in. We lose focus. Our mind tells us what it thinks our body wants to hear. That this is going to be tough. It's going to be hard. We psyche ourselves out before the race even starts.
The BASE Performance / Tower 26 Swim Challenge will help you overcome these thoughts.
Athlete after athlete tells us that the average amount of yardage they swim per week is only 6,000 yards.
Think about it. If we could help you get to the point where you can swim one full Ironman Distance Swim a day, (4,000 yards) for 7 days in a row. Your mind will be strong. Your body will be strong. Your confidence in your swim will begin to grow. You may not be Michael Phelps coming out of the water, but you will not be worried about whether you can make the swim or not. (If your personal challenge is just getting to the pool 7 days in a row, then make that your challenge. Don't be intimidated thinking you must reach 4,000 / day. Create your own challenge that works for you, but make it a goal that you need to reach out for. Don't make it easy)
Use this as a kick start to your summer triathlon training. Use it to build your aerobic engine without breaking down your body or risking injury by running too much too soon.

Start Date: Monday February 5th.
Distance: 4,000 yards / day for 7 days in a row or 7 hours of swimming that week - as some folks would have a rough time with 4k in a session.
The hardest thing for us sometimes is just getting to the pool. So make your challenge just getting in and swimming for an hour, 7 days a week, and I promise that will suffice. Create your own challenge, we just want to motivate and support you. Have a community with you.
Why: In triathlon, everyone is nervous at the start of the Ironman or 70.3 swim. Their mind plays tricks on them. But, if in February, if you completed 7 hours of swimming that week, you can do ANY IM or 70.3 swim at the race
Workout preparation: provided by TOWER 26 (you must sign up for their program) - GERRY IS MATT'S PREMIER GO TO SWIM COACH IN TRIATHLON. I have swam with him off and on for years. He got me even faster 10 years after college than I had ever been.
Cost: $49.95 - gets you the 7 workouts (as you sign-up), a T Shirt, Water Bottle, and a Swim Challenge Cap (all mailed after the completion) - After you sign up you will start to receive email instructions on how to get your workouts from Tower 26.
How to train to get ready for it: For two weeks, starting immediately, TOWER 26 will email you workouts to get you ready for this challenge. You should continue on with them after those two free weeks. It will be worth it.
